Incarnate Word Academy is a private, Catholic high school for young women. Founded in 1932 by the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, IWA's mission is: to foster the spiritual, intellectual, social, and personal growth of each student.

Incarnate Word Academy provides an excellent college preparatory academic foundation while nurturing the spiritual growth of every student who attends. Known as "Women of the Word," students are encouraged to seek human dignity in themselves and others. Through high academic standards and personal attention, our students become self-assured, knowledgeable women who positively impact their communities.

Incarnate Word Academy prides itself on empowering young women to be brave, brilliant and truly Incarnate. A Woman of the Word portrays her bravery by taking chances in the classroom, on the stage or on the field. She is challenged daily through her courses, teachers and coaches to become what God has called her to be. She shines with brilliance and hope for the future with the several academics opportunities offered. Our students have the opportunity to take 52 Honors, AP, and ACP course offerings; they can join over 22 clubs, have opportunities to collaborate with community corporations and maintain the renown modular schedule. When our young ladies graduate from IWA they belong to the Incarnate Sisterhood which is a sisterhood of pride, traditions and justly serving out the charisms of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word.

Mission

The mission of Incarnate Word Academy is to challenge young women of faith to achieve their God-given potential as academically successful Women of the Word, following the example of Jesus, the Incarnate Word, by promoting human dignity, thereby empowering themselves and others to make a positive impact on our world.

Purpose

The Campus Ministry Team at Incarnate Word Academy is committed to forming Women of the Word. Our mission is to provide opportunities for students to grow together in faith and community. Similar to the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, we seek to make the love of God a real and tangible presence at our school.

Quality

College prep begins day one at Incarnate Word Academy. Our modular schedule is what makes us one of the most unique high schools in the area. Students learn to manage this schedule on the first day of their Freshmen Orientation. This collegiate schedule allows our girls to collaborate with their peers, initiate discussions and seek help from their professors.

Dynamic Community

Students graduate from IWA using a successful modular schedule, learning time management and complete a rigorous academic curriculum to join a sisterhood of thousands of alumnae. These women of the Word maintain high school relationships for their entire lives. Each graduate knows that IWA is where her family became part of a larger community. We welcome our graduates and their families to join us on campus at any time.
