St. Roch students treat each other and the adults in the community with the respect that is due all, because all are created in the image of God. The students, who form a very diverse community, are accepting of others’ differences. They are encouraged to explore God’s creation, to follow their natural curiosity and to develop their creativity in a safe and nurturing environment. St. Roch teachers are dedicated to educating their students in all aspects of Christian living. They accept their responsibility as the spiritual leaders of their classrooms and strive to build their students’ relationships with Jesus through prayer, teaching, and modeling. They embrace leadership roles within the school community and teach the students to do the same. They are dedicated to a lifetime of learning and instill the same love of learning in their students. St. Roch teachers use the combination of a rigorous, well-aligned curriculum and technology to creatively empower students with the necessary technological and critical thinking skills to succeed in their world. Together the students, teachers, parents, staff and administration come together to form a St. Roch family that is founded on Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Church. It is a community that is steeped in tradition and is devoted to faith, service, discipline and excellence in education.

Purpose

St. Roch is about more than just test scores and academics. We strive to develop the whole person. Our students gain the skills and values needed to achieve both in and out of the classroom. We encourage mentoring among students, particularly between the lower and upper grades. St. Roch graduates enter high school as confident and compassionate young men and women.

Quality

The faculty at St. Roch uses a team approach to academics to coordinate instruction across all grades and in all subjects. Our full time learning consultant assists student progress in and out of the classroom. The consultant helps in developing study and organizational skills. Test taking strategies are also taught. By working collaboratively, teachers are better able to help students develop as a class while taking into account individual needs.
